The group that presently meets in our home continues to prosper. It represents a shift in the kind of people we now attempt to reach as well as the way we think it is necessary to accomplish that.
Professional
and educated people are usually more skeptical and generally do not respond
to more traditional methods of evangelism. Also, the more educated people
are, the more acutely do they often feel animosity toward Americans and, especially,
a healthy disdain for the concept of "missionary". We have a unique
opportunity that is as much the culmination of being in the same place for
20 years as anything else. We are viewed, by some at least, as long time residents,
equals, and in some cases, friends. We have inroads that are only available
to those who have been around for several years with an attitude of equality,
neighborliness and friendship.
