Essays:
Introduction

The following themes may appear to
be somewhat unrelated, but they do have one basic element in common. They
were written in the heat of the moment. They reveal what was weighing most
heavily on my heart at the time they were being developed.
The essays appear in chronological order. They remain essentially unchanged so that you might have the opportunity, at least for a brief moment, to step into one missionary's shoes. I hope that through them you catch a glimpse into certain moments of his life, feel the weight of some of his burdens, and attain a better sense of how to pray.
Missionaries are often a lonely lot. By sharing these lines with you, I seek a kindred spirit, an understanding friend, a prayer partner. I only desire that they provoke you to thought and a willingness to do whatever necessary to keep the laborers you send to other countries spiritually healthy and encouraged in their work.
I hope to add a few more essays to the list as I am able.
